Attendance
Attendance is important. However, we do understand that your dancer may not be able to attend every rehearsal. Please notify the office if you’ll be absent. Dancers should plan to stay for the full rehearsal timeslot since curtain calls are practiced at the end of the rehearsal. |
Attire
REHEARSAL ATTIRE IS THE SAME AS DANCE CLASS ATTIRE --dancewear & dance shoes only. Hair should be tied up & off the face & neck. Jewelry, earrings & watches are not permitted. Costumes are NOT needed. Please leave all personal belongings, extra dancewear, bags & valuables at home. |
The Benefits
- Students gain confidence by rehearsing with other dancers looking on – a great first audience experience.
- Dancers have an opportunity to learn which dance comes before and after them so they’re aware of what is happening backstage.
- Dancers practice entrances, exits & “curtain calls” (i.e. bows) and being ready in the right spot which makes for a more relaxed & fun performance day.
- Students who take class at the Chapman Studio have a chance to dance in a larger space. Since the Chapman Studio is 30’ x 25’ and the Garde Arts Center stage is 40’ by 35’, the dancers can make adjustments in energy and timing prior to stepping on stage.
